CommentsKashechewan and Fort Albany ON, March 24 to April 01, 2012. A state of emergency was declared when rapid snowmelt and early ice break-up caused flooding along the Albany river. The flood forced the evacuation of approximately 269 residents to the towns of Kapuskasing and Wawa. All evacuees were able to return to their homes by April 1, 2012.
