Over 7000 military personnel were employed for 36 days to assist in preventing flood damage and in relocating the 25447 evacuees; communities affected include Emerson, Rosenort, St. Jean Baptiste, Morris, St. Adolphe, Nutimik, Portage la Prairie, Ste. Agathe, St. Norbert, Letellier, Dominion City, Scanterbury, Halbstadt, Brunkhild, Domain, LaSalle, Sanford and Winnipeg.
