CommentsA series of severe thunderstorms tracked over southern Ontario and Quebec throughout July 19th and into the next morning. The storm brought exceptionally strong winds. Pearson International Airport in Toronto, for example, recorded winds of 104 km/hr. As a result, there was widespread wind damage and power outages. One individual was killed by a falling tree branch and two others were injured in Boucherville, QC; 8 children were also injured when their tent collapsed in Prevost, QC. Insurable losses were estimated to be $167 million (CAD 2013).
