The small anarchist group, Direct Action, also known as the Squamish Five, claimed responsibility for the attack, which injured ten. The group also claimed responsibility for bombing a hydro sub-station in Vancouver, British Columbia, in their protest against pollution, pornography and the arms industry. The five key members of the group were arrested in January 1983 and served prison terms ranging from four to eight years. |
